Flags of Our Fathers by James Bradley (with Ron Powers)

Middle School Curriculum Guides are now available for "Flags" (2000).  The Guides are project oriented, with opportunities for both independent study and collaborative enterprises.

Our last three years of Armory graduates  (currently upper level students at Palladio High Road Academy) read and developed satisfactory-outstanding Flags projects.  Thus, middle school students needing learning supports or mentoring can find a wide range of supportive relationships at the Academy.  Academy students are currently reading/engaging projects  in relation to Bradley's sequel Flyboys (2003).

Bonus Learning Supports for Armory Students?
Academy students will be practicing their recently honed interview techniques with resident veterans at Peconic Landing, Greenport, NY.   Accompanied and guided by anthropologist, Dr. Sara Di Angelo, our high school students will head out with laptops and question protocols to the North Fork on the seven o'clock Jitney tonight.  Peconic Landing will accommodate our enthusiastic budding journalists through the weekend.  The generous and upscale setting will host the first link of its kind on Long Island -connecting high school students who have studied World War 11 with real living World War 11 veterans drawn from both forks of eastern Long Island.
